Is this Nvidia offer good?

Looking for recommendations on what folks think about my Nvidia offer. Myself: Senior SRE with a startup (no more at Twitter) 17 yoe Current TC: 200+ paper money (not seeing any liquidation in next 2-3 years) Bay area Nvidia (verbal) IC4 Base: 200K RSU: 270K over 4 years No yearly or sign-on bonus TC/yr 267.5 K Bay Area Pros:Brand name, growing fast, no immediate layoff concerns(?), good on resume down the road. Remain in a tech company. Concerns: Is IC4 downlevel? Recruiter mentioned that there is no room for IC5 and this is the final role. Numbers wise there might be very small room(10-15K) but keeping my fingers crossed. RSUs at high valuation that can go either way in future? I checked with a few folks at Nvidia and they said I should be pushing for IC5 or even with IC4 it should be ~ 350K TC. I do have another offer though that I have already accepted, but now debating as Nvidia came through. Illumina: Sr SRE Base: 215K Yearly Bonus: 15% RSU: 350K over 4 years Sign-on 25K TC/yr: ~330K Bay Area Pros: Team seems chill and niche. Shorter to no commute and I will lead new initiatives. Small team(2 folks) so doubt of immediate concerns with layoffs. Possible that I can do good work and grow in the role. Higher TC than Nvidia Concerns: Career pivots towards biotech and I might have difficulty securing calls from FAANG+ in future? Also not sure about the level here but as per levels.fyi lower than Nvidia IC4 #Nvidia #tech #offer

I don't think nvidia is considered a brand name (yet)... compared to FAANGs and other top-tier companies. Stock is a different thing altogether 🤷‍♂️ Also, don't optimize to get calls from FAANGs. You will get calls from them sooner or later. Just optimize for growth and money. Nothing else matters. FAANGs are a nightmare to be at these days.

That's a very fair take, thank you.

That stock is an insult

NVIDIA ChaiGPT Apr 25

Lowball offer, like ic3. Ask recruiter to match competing offer or walk.

NVIDIA rickross93 Apr 26

Stock is lowball for Bay Area.

NVIDIA pUbMaN# Apr 26

For the Nvidia offer - it is a low Ic4 offer. Base can go up to about 240 or so and stock to 300 K over 4 years. And I have people calling over from FAANGs to come join Nvidia so the Nvidia name brand will help you

X Alone_Musk OP Apr 26

Thanks, that helps me to push a bit. Would you know what is the stock refresher range/avg for IC4? I believe if that is substantial then that adds to the TC eventually as well.

NVIDIA pUbMaN# Apr 26

Refreshers vary a lot. But for good performance (not exceptional) you will get about 1/4 of your initial grant each year vesting over the next four years

NVIDIA Bsno45 Apr 27

That is a bad IC4 offer. If they don’t match your other one just take that.

NVIDIA nvcrgo Apr 27

Why are you getting ic4 at 17yoe

X Alone_Musk OP Apr 28

Started off with the interview being as open but was told mid point that it was the highest that the team has approval for.

NVIDIA nvcrgo Apr 28

Hmm I am not sure why they’re offering ic4. You should also compare refreshers + espp to get a better idea of pay between both.

Isn’t Nividia on hiring freeze? When did you receive your offer and which team/org is this under?
