Disney offer SWE II 118k base / 130k for west coast should I move 7% annual bonus 100k/3 years RSU 25k signon. 1YOE (1Y in software support before 1Y as SWE) Is this a good offer? Benefits are quite meh. Should I keep looking or is this good? #engineering #software #swe #disney
Negotiate for 20% more base
I tried. They did not want to negotiate on that.
Seems low as hell. Should be 135-155 base for SWE 2. Have you showed them salary data and pointed that out?
Disney pays peanuts, so the offer is solid. They have plenty of people who work for their Disney princess or star wars dreams and don’t really care TC.
Should I stay / try to negotiate current co. and keep looking?
Depends on whether you have Disney dreams or not. Not everyone chase higher TC.
Moving from Indiana to California isn’t worth 12k once you factor in the difference of the price of housing
As someone who moved to California, I agree that the 12k delta is nowhere near enough to make up for COL
This had occurred to me, but I would only stay if my salary increased / I got promoted within a year. No yearly promotion and I'm out. Meanwhile, I would spend time 50/50 split for 2023.
This is on the bottom end for p2, 1 year prior experience might be a factor here.
Do you like working for the company?
Anyone says yes is either lying or delusional
Depends, what’s your current TC? Do you have other offers?
I don't. Current total comp is 110K.
