Is this accurate? I'm Indian student looking to move to Canada for Green Card and a Job. This guy says don't.

https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8sjU2oH/ US is beyond my reach even after 2 year CS MS degree w/ 3.8 GPA, teaching assistant experience and an internship in the US. Getting a US job interview for a new grad is harder to impossible in this market for me. There's a long backlog of Employment Category Green Card EB3, EB2 and even if I do PhD in next 5-8 years there also an EB1 backlog. It doesn't feel worth the effort fighting for a job in the US for a Green Card because I wouldn't get it in 20 years either. I have no H1B, no PERM process started and I'm just on F1 studying visa right now. Now I'm discouraged by such life in Canada videos. These are a lot. Looks like CAD 200K+ income is not enough in Canada. New grads don't even get that. I have a huge loan to repay for my US college education. I don't even have a job. What should I do next?

He’s a dumb @ss. Don’t listen. He says millions on a house but doesn’t realize bank provided mortgage. Each country has its struggles. US/CA or even India.

Hang on tight and persistent effort is key. Don’t lose hope

Moving to Canada is doable, but not an easy life. Taxes are very high and wages are low. You will be stuck with just trying to stay alive for the next 20-30 years, and need to be very frugal. Working conditions are *tough*. If you can manage, move to Europe instead. You won’t get rich easily but at least working conditions are better.

I don't want that "trying to stay alive for the next 20-30 years" life. I left India to live a better life. I'm not looking for more struggles than I was getting in India.

Canada is good if you are already rich and come with money. Many ultra high net worth people living in Vancouver made their fortunes outside of Canada.

Apply for jobs there before you really move. Moving could be expensive especially when you are a student with no income. As for whether CAD 200k+ income is enough or not, it really depends on where you live and what kind of lifestyle you want. I have friends working non-tech jobs who moved to Vancouver a couple of years ago and now have bought a townhouse in the suburban area. And there are people out there living in the Bay Area shouting they are poor with USD 600k+ income. So, it really depends.

Canada is a shthole

Amazon KToones Jan 21

How would you feel if someone called India a shithole? Cause the corruption, dirt, smell of sewage, polluted air, extreme poverty and garbage ain’t pretty. Yet we Westerners would never say such a thing. The audacity of some Indians to call Canada a shithole because it won’t pay them as high salaries as the US is staggering. Y’all look down on EACH OTHER more than anyone and find some kind of weak prestige in being in America where you also complain about GC wait times and QOL. Canada is a beautiful country though it’s quality has gone downhill with unchecked immigration from a single country, but it’s definitely not a shithole or anywhere close to the 3rd world. Stop acting so entitled.

It’s a shit hole because they made the mistake of letting them overrun their country.

Stay in India. Nowadays 1C salaries are quite common

Canada is where the chapraasi Indians go by choice.

Cisco itspaulr Jan 21

All freeloaders from Punjab are there.

Fred Hutch kissmyH1B Jan 21

Exactly. It’s truly pathetic what they do there. Brampton 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Stay in USA and try to get a job here. No way Canada offers even a fraction of the TC. Only reason people go to Canada is to get passport and come back to USA. Even those born and raised in Canada are moving to states

There is no future in Canada. Especially if you are Indian.

Amazon murgadance Jan 22

Dude if you moved out of India because of struggles, trust me Canada isn’t the right place. Wages are piss poor, COL is sky high, housing market is a crisis, healthcare is a crisis, every immigrant just trying to get a job no matter how low the wages are. Even for a 60k job in Vancouver as a business analyst there will be 800 applicants. You are better off in Indian than moving to a foreign country where you will be struggling (different struggle than India though).
