Is this fair compensation for Backend role at 4 years experience in India?
I have been offered 42lpa (base + bonus) at a startup. I haven't received offers from Amazon/Microsoft/Uber yet, hence trying to gauge if this is equivalent to big MNC's. YOE : 4 TC. 30 Lakh rupees per annum Level : SDE 2

Hey there, my current base is 28 , new is 36 . Old one had stocks worth 30k usd spread over long time , the new company has no stocks promised yet.
I see. So essentially new company is giving you a joining bonus worth 6L (one time, I assume?) vs 22ish L stocks that you already have (vesting in few years) Trade off being 28 is now becoming 36 which is a good move. Would you loose your previous stocks on leaving? I think I had put a lot of thinking in this regard for the starters.

42L is fair at 4 yoe.. Amazon and Uber can give higher but not too much
Thanks, i am losing out on stocks at current company. But i feel startup will offer better work. Hope that will work out in long term
It's worth the experience.. Only pain is wlb in some startups
