I'm very skeptical about crypto. The little research I did suggests that crypto is the future of money like Internet was back then for tech. There are many interesting projects catering to different use cases and you never know which will succeed. Just like the million .com companies during the late 90s. Better stay away or invest in a few promising coins? What do you think?
Read and learn about bitcoin
They are both IMO- there’s random shitcoins and there are real case uses (like cutting out middlemen like the remittance industry). OFC the threat of being hacked is very VERY real.
It is very different then the dot com boom for 2 reasons. 1. The barrier to entry is lower so there are vastly more shit companies, products and coins. 2. Unlike the dot com Era, the web3 companies that are successful are absurdly profitable. There isn't this invest and hope for future returns, there is only an investment to go faster mindset. As an IC it means that it's much harder to pick the right one, but even if you don't there is enough money that you can still get paid well for failure.
It's a solution in search of a problem.
Ok boomer
When kids ran out of valid argument, “Ok boomer” is the best face saving slogan. Lol
Just bought bayc #8817
Lol that escalated fast
I am confused about how tokens are investments. Why should there be correlation between a project being valuable and their token price increasing proportionally? Like price of a token has many factors (liquidity, volume, demand, supply, inflation, etc), i think high token price != utility (actually might be inverse to utility in some cases). So I am not convinced token price are a good measure to find successful crypto projects. Tokens are not like shares in a company, they are more like transactions unit, and maybe profit/txn is a proxy for value.
i don’t think there were as many rug pulls
