Issues with sleep

I have been struggling to sleep for more than 5 hours daily. Tried otc medication, meditation, exercise etc but nothing is really helping. Doctors suggest sleep medications which are addictive. I don’t think my problem is that worse yet. They ask me to reduce screen time but unfortunately I can’t due to work. At the same time I don’t work too much. I end my day at 6-6:30. My phone usage is low as well. Feeling desperate now Blind tax 350K L6 sde

I was wondering the same thing. OP, did you have this problem your whole life or did it start at a certain time?

Amazon commi OP Apr 29

I work regular hours. To be frank my job isn’t too demanding or stressful. I can get nasty at times but that during a big release which I can’t avoid wherever I go.

Do you have sleep apnea?

Amazon commi OP Apr 29

No

Broadcom Chadmax99 Apr 29

Did you do a sleep test to confirm?

How's your stress level? How's your caffeine intake? Controlling/reducing these helped me sleep better.

Amazon commi OP Apr 29

Reduced caffeine to just 1 cup (12 oz) in the morning

No blue light or screens for 1 hour before bed. 1mg Melatonin 30min before your desired sleep time. Sunrise alarm clock 7-8 hours after your actual current sleep time. Moderate exercise before dinner. Meditate for 5-25min before bedtime routines

Google MqId47 Apr 29

You probably mean 1mg melatonin which is still 3x what your body needs.

GRAIL gbtC57 Apr 29

Oops yep, 1 milligram not 1 gram :o. Will try to edit above!! Thanks!! 1mg is lowest dose each tab/gummy I have seen in tablets/gummies made for children OTC in U.S. so far

There is a plethora of sleep medication. Some are addictive, some are habit forming and some are neither

Citadel menndnfnfn Apr 29

Examples of “neither”?

change your lifestyle, change your bed, change room temperature to cooler

It’s stress obviously. What’s “exercise etc”?

I used to struggle with sleep based on several factors, but chiefly stress, which kept me up late, and the belief in an arbitrary need to wake up early. It completely wrecked my health. … so I stopped setting a 4am-5am alarm. Yeah, I’m not up before the crack of dawn, which annoys me, but I get sleep. What are arbitrary limits you are putting on yourself?

Stop caffeine

How do you even work without being caffeinated? My work is so dumb on most days, I need caffeine to get my anxiety up and show seriousness.

Google kaJhYu Apr 29

There's no need for drastic measures. It's ok to drink caffeine so long as it's not in the afternoon.
