Not sure why to repost, its funny they couldn’t fill the position with 1k+ applicants its fked up.
What the hell is going on tech was king 2021 2022
It was and everybody ran here. I know over a dozen nurses that quit their jobs after Covid and wen into Data and Business Analyst roles and bootcamps
This is true. I know at least 4-5 guys who were from finance and turned into "tech" as business/data analyst
I also saw a lot of other DS/DA openings with 2000+ applicants still “actively hiring” 😂
Ds and ml roles are really fked up rightnow, each listing has hundreds of applicants, its like people rushing for those door busters on blk friday
I think it's mostly ds/da. Actual MLE doesn't seem too bad
my experience says that out of 1000 application almost 130 to 180 would be relevant(with coding background+ ms/phd+ reserch paper in supb conference s). 50s would fullfill more granular requirements, and 30s would be selected for interviews ... other applications are pure noise and a nightmare for recruiters
They probably can't fill the position because they have 1000 applicants. Can you imagine sorting through that garbage?
No one sorts through that garbage. 99.9% will be automatically filtered by a simple keyword search
This is how hiring works. If you don’t want that, don’t post the job publicly.
As a recruiter, any data science role gets 80% applicants who have never done any data science related work, but are trying to break into it.
It’s probably for a green card recruitment process
Yeah many of those are fake positions
This ^
Chances are already filled and they did not take down the opening. Same case with few openings in India
Most LinkedIn job requisitions are void. If you click on the employers site the job doesn’t exist . The reposts are automatic as well
As a recruiter who works on a lot of tech roles including DS - the sheer number of applicants who are not at all qualified for roles can be obscene... this is a perfect example. Imagine at least least 50% are not qualified (often the number can be higher.)
It had 200 applications yesterday, 10 mins after I got the LI notification.. 🥴
One thing to keep in mind is that LinkedIn shows the number of clicks the job posting has as "applications".
Are you sure about that?
