I recently moved to San Francisco and started a new job in South SOMA. I’ve found a place in West SOMA and the majority of my daily commute includes a bike ride along 13th Street, on the surprisingly well-constructed bike lanes under the Central Freeway. It’s a fast and convenient commute, but riding through the filthy roads and eyesoring tents everyday really made me question the point of my life here. I don’t think I can or should enjoy my high-paying job when people are literally dying under my eyes. I can’t change job or move because I just did that and also don’t see anything else I can do to substaintially improve the situation on SF streets. If anything, it’s only getting worse and worse every year. Being stucked in a troubled situation is the worst feeing. #sanfrancisco
Oh poor you with your six figure job having to see homeless people. You have it so tough!
Perhaps carpool to work by car? That’s a short term solution. Longer term, maybe try to volunteer at a homeless shelter that offers job training? You can definitely make a real difference that way.
Well maybe this is a great product idea for airbnb! Incentivize hosts to take in some of the street dwellers 🤣
You can't heal everyone's pain, think of it as karma and try to do good to whom you can!
What have you done about it? Stop voting blue!
Lol you think republicans are gonna stop homelessness?
I do! Liberal policies are directly responsible for this.
One more solution. Become the joker, band together with homeless and start a “Kill the rich” movement in the city. SF is the modern day Gotham City.
Know what's depressing? Being homeless
Not really a lot of them choose to be homeless and are junkies
Seriously OP, that's your hot take? "I want out, because I can't enjoy my high salary." Learn some humility. Jesus.
Don't bike then.
If the elected officials don’t care, why do you? Or run for office and drive the change!
