Looking for info on culture and working stress levels at Ancestry, especially in the product org. Any info and insights highly appreciated. Thx.
It's quite good! I enjoy working here, really nice wlb, and a lot of potential for cross functional collaboration to build some really cool products!
Sounds good. Does the company have pip culture? I saw recent layoffs so it's a little worrisome, esp about bad management
I guess it depends on the team you're working with... Anything around data science is reasonably stable without too much change in the roadmap, but other things, maybe not as stable... We've had some misses, and the recent layoff has been due to the fact that the Health product hasn't taken off... Part of it is also because the market around DNA kits has been soft in general, even 23nMe had a layoff last year in January... There's been some turbulence due to the change in CEO but now things seem to be getting back into place
Well.. TC or GTFo
don’t. there’s been a lot of attrition lately, especially from product. you’ll regret it a ton. there is a WLB but it’s a ship going nowhere fast.
I wouldn’t recommend especially after recent acquisition by Blackstone.
I will be interested to chat with you about google. Are you an ex VP that was laid off from Ancestry?
Why do you want to leave google and go to ancestry suddenly?
Seems to want to be God
