Hi Blind For the longest time I've been wanting to relocate to the US. But only last year, July 13th of 2022, I decided to take it seriously. I'd looked into all the different visa's and their requirements and decided to move on with L1, but it's hella hard to get into a good big tech or mid size US company that has offices in Europe in this market so it's not an option. As for O1, I'm not eligible for it for on like 6 out of 8 criterias at this moment. H1b? No way I'm putting this much effort in order to get a 9% chance (or less). I don't have a bachelor's degree which makes it even worse for H1B. EB3? Can take 3 or more years to get it from outside the country. So the only way for me is to start over and get into the US university. I'll get my bachelor's, get a 2 year period to get a job and maybe a green card. But I will be 29 by the time I finish it ๐ I can also drop out if i want to and figure out how to legalize from there. What do you think? Now I have a job in a small Dubai company, getting ok money (60k after taxes) and living all over the world (mostly Asia). I'd appreciate any advice Tc: 60k Yoe: 4
Why would you want to move to the US? Live in Vietnamese or Thailand and be happy.
Exactly where I am right now. Vietnam. And I'll move to Thailand in a month. I think it's a beautiful country. Be happy? I want to make a big buck working as SWE ๐ I like the country, I like its culture, I like the possibility of eventually becoming a citizen.
Country politics and culture (and associated personality traits) are the #1 reason not to move to the US. Have you ever been or do you know it only indirectly?
If you want to go to US you can consider Canada route. Apply, immigrate, get passport, get to US. 5 years plan. Yet again. Why would you want the US? Have you considered ๐ฆ๐บ?
I love the US. It's a hussle country, the center of the world with enourmous business and job opportunities. Really diverse in terms of culture and therefore acceptable for any nationality, even the Russians
Get a masters degrees in 1 year, start your 30 mo OPT and convert to h1b during that period
I got dropped out of my bachelor's degree during the last year of study. I can finish it and THEN go get my masters in the US. it's definitely a good option
Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, etc are good option. I think you look pretty hard to immigrat to the US with a working visa.
Do yourself a favour and avoid US...if I was you I'd rather move to Germany or Dubai
Dubai is terrible. Been there, didn't like it. Terrible weather. Worst weather I've experienced in my life. Not an exaggeration. The best word that i can come up with to describe Dubai is "fake".
Germany has terrible salaries and I'd have to learn a new language which I have no interest in doing.
Come to India my boy. We love to slaves for foreigners. It's about time Russians enslaved us.
What are you talking about dude? Such a weird call. I have some friends that are in India now and it's amusing that people come up to them to take a photo just cause they're white
The same situation with you. Originally from Myanmar, but currently living in Thailand. Want to relocate to Canada or Australia to get PR. The fast option is study MS at there. TC also 70K. But need to save tuition fee first ๐ฅฒ before I go there.
Isn't it easy to save up that amount with your Tc? How much do you need?

Technically you can go asylum route. Or marry a citizen.
