Both Vercel and Netlify are leaders in the JAMstack world. For those that don't know, Vercel and Netlify are serverless deployment platforms for WebApps. They're both pushing for microservices structure and are hellbent on disrupting the monolithic architecture. Note that this a grossly simplified summary of all the things they provide including and not limiting to CICD, integrations to various headless platforms, etc. Both products are diving head first into the Enterprise pricing models. Both share similar investors: GV, github big boss, etc. Both are heavily funded at series C. Both are seeing similar skepticism that Git (congrats on an amazing IPO) and GitHub had in the past. This poll is to see what you, as a developer, would choose to use to build your next app and at the same time, which would you choose as an employer. Please provide your insight in the comment section!
Vercel is growing faster than Netlify and got a huge funding round this year. Much nicer looking UI, too. Netlify has had a lot of exec churn and it remains to be seen whether it can get its mojo back.
Vercel just landed a $150MM Series D funding today. They are pushing for a final launch to grow before an IPO.
Yeah they both raised Series D. Netlify had their last week and is heavily backed by a16z. I personally like Netlify a lot better but Vercel has the upper since theyre just converting Nextjs (their open source react framework) into Vercel customers. The fact that this post didn't get a lot of attention tells me blinders are just faang-ers and don't really look into early stage unicorns
Netlify over Vercel all the way- no brainer even, Netlify started and runs Jamstack. vercel has always been a follower
Shocked this has no insight - founder/CEO made some memorable npm e.g. mongoose. Show your insight folks!
