Keeping it short… currently a Tech Product Manager and we just laid off about 18% and I think there will be deeper cuts. Looking to move to greener pastures. Plus I just got married… I’ve never been in this situation before and I am concerned because I don’t have my bachelors but have more than 10+ years of product and a little engineering experience. Can anyone help with referrals or just advice? I’d appreciate anything positive tc 236 #layoff #product #help
It’s ok, I’ve never been married too. You’ll be ok in the end. What does not kill you makes you stronger. And if she does kill you, the police will catch her. Probably.
Idk man… she’s pretty clever. Appreciate the support
What does being married have anything to do with this? Sorry to hear about your situation
Just shitty timing is the relevance. It’s like.. fuck I just dished out a lot cash for that and now this. Just an element of stress.
Well if your spouse has a more stable job than it’s actually not as bad of a timing
Send me your resume and i can refer you fot a tech manager. Will be a lower salary but thats your call.
Appreciate that! I’ll send it over. Putting some lipstick on it now.

Product Managers are very valuable right now, gotta come up with the next money maker or cost saver. As I look myself for leadership roles, I only have engineering experience and people definitely like Product experience too. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage actually. So sharpen your interviewing skills and own your Product experience.
Wow.. that’s interesting. Definitely makes me feel better. Good luck on your stuff
You are lucky that you have a girl next to you and that you did not lose job before your wedding. You will be fine brother, keep looking 👍🏻
That’s a good perspective man. Appreciate the positivity. You’re absolutely right
God Bless You
Such is life sometimes. We can’t control when the layoffs hit. Keep looking and be patient given the economic situation. You will land a better job!
True that. Appreciate the support
2022: Got laid 2023: off
DM for Rippling, if interested
Just reached out
I've been laid off with a kid on the way while trying to transition into software from IT with no degree and I made it. Although lay offs have been happening across the board, tech workers have been able to bounce to other roles quicker than other industries and with better outcomes. There is also a lot of support for laid off employees, so you just need to keep your head up high and he consistent with how you plan to navigate finding a new role. You got this!
Thanks! Appreciate the support
