https://www.theinformation.com/articles/10-billion-security-startup-wiz-in-talks-to-acquire-lacework-for-200-million Crazy how much they raised and burned through the cash. #startup #tech #security #lacework #wiz
They didn’t burn through, they are returning the cash reserves back to investors
This is weird. Thought Wiz is doing good. Why wud they go buy a dying company? Sounds like there’s something fishy here. May be rumors of Wiz inflating their financials is true ?
Technology-talent-customers deal, sounds pretty sane, why invent conspiracy versions when there is an obvious one?
If technology & customers are good, they wudnt be in this situation. If they are willing to accept this low bar offer, they already know they are a lost cause. Infact acquiring a company to integrate with existing platform is almost always more expensive than alternatives. Check Palo Alto Networks for example. Only reasonable explanation is talent. If true, this is essentially aqui-hire. Last I heard, most of the A players who built the foundations of Lacework either already left or about to leave. So, u have to really see what’s that 200M$ is getting Wiz. Neither technology nor talent nor customers. Sometimes these acquisitions have many hidden agendas. Sometimes extremely strategic while other times it’s just a way of moving money around. Gotta wait & see how this plays out.
Wrong company
?
It's Wiz. Not Wix.
