What is the salary range for lead software engineer (VP) at JPMC? Levels fyi range is too broad.
In my experience banks can vary widely and tend to throw the AVP, VP, and SVP titles around like candy. Either he was BSing you or a poor "lifer" who didn't realize or care for other opportunities outside of the bank.
JP doesn't have AVP or SVP, it's just VP, but it just means Senior level, nothing more.
Ask for range of 180 to 200k, they’re bleeding talent
I was recently up for promo this year (I think I had a very strong chance but never guaranteed) and I left for 220k and they told me that was too high for them to match. I was on 135 as a senior assoc so I reckon they’d have pushed me to 150 if promo. This is nyc. My advice ask for 180, high ball it and get them to lower
Levels fyi has some VP TC reported as high as 400
Mind if I DM you?
Aim high especially if you’re in NYC area and have 1st year target bonus written in offer letter. If you don’t negotiate hard, they are going to low ball you for sure.
Would they laugh it off if I ask for 350 TC?
I doubt they go beyond - base $160k +bonus 20k
That's poverty in NYC for someone with a family

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
It's broad because it significantly varies. Before I quit last year, I was making 102k as an Associate Software Engineer. However, my VP manager was floored when he gave me that raise to 102k and he had to do a double-check to make sure it was correct, because apparently that was what he was making only a few months prior. So this poor VP who has worked at JPMC since before I was born was making basically the same amount as someone only a year out of college. It's a large reason why I quit, as that whole situation was VERY telling.
He bull shitted you, and seemingly did a very good job at it. No VP(lead) in any COL at chase is making 102k. That was associate pay about 10 years back. VP - leads make a base of around 150. VP (managers) make a base of over 170k and 25% bonus for meets and more for exceeds expectations.
Even 150 sounds very low in today's market.
