Hello all. I got the following offer. Level - Associate (even tho I have almost 4 yoe?) Base - 120K Annual Bonus - 10% Sponsor I-140 after 1 year of working for them Location: Plano, TX Any pointers as to what should be my TC? Is the offer low for my experience? Should I negotiate? I'd appreciate any suggestions & ideas. Thank you. #engineering #software #swe #chase #jpmc YOE: 3.5 TC: 112K
Associate is the right level. I’m at GS but most banks are similar Analyst: 0-3 yoe, with good performers promoted after 2yrs Associate: 2-6yrs, with most people generally spending 3yrs at this level Vice President: 5-10+yrs (terminal level for a majority of people) MD: 10+yrs Whats the location of your offer?
Location is Plano, TX
JP has 2 levels of associate, so it pushes VP a little higher. Also has ED that is similar to GS MD. JP MD is more like GS partner. Eg, even the CIO is technically an MD
Location? This is low if NYC
Plano, TX
If filing I140 is a priority for you then I would suggest not going for this. JPMC will drag you out until you have 1.5 years left out of your H1B, and only then file your I-140. Has happened to my husband and for many others working at JPMC.
☝️ this. I had someone on a team I took over who was told at hire they'd file after 1 year. I took over team after he'd been there a year, so he brought it up in 1-1. I kicked off process. After like 4 months got told he had too much time left and to wait. It was bullshit, so 100% don't trust JPMC on this one.
I would push for VP, not sure how much developers make there but I think you could at least get 10K more. I just interviewed for a role there at the Plano location that pay range is from $200K - $250K
VP at 3.5 YoE isn't happening. The guideline is 7, but can be pushed down to 5 for strong candidates. Exception would be PhD. It's L5 equivalent, not L4 like blind would have you believe.
In banking it’s different than Google, I came in as a VP with 5 yoe… VP doesn’t mean much in banking… essentially it’s mid-senior level
Low. A coworker from BofA got 135k offer 9 months ago for JPMC Plano, similar experience. I have similar experience level too, I'm making 160k TC at Capital One (Plano). DM me if you want a referral.
Few recruiters contacted me from Capital One but none of the positions offer sponsorship
Unfortunately that's C1. They don't sponsor. Good luck!
