JPMC started going back to office. Do you think it’s for good? #jpmorgan #jpmc #jpmorganchase #tech #bank #wfh #remote #hybrid #officelife #pandemic #covid19
Misleading post. Some people are gonna think you're asking because of covid safety
Safety and preference.
I honestly can see both points one one hand the collaboration you get from in office simply can’t compare to wfh ever… But being forced to stay close to headquarters, commuting, etc is a real buzzkill. I like hybrid but it still forces you to be relatively close to HQ
I think the solution to this is changing what “hybrid” means. If we can gather 1 week per quarter instead of 3 days per week, then we can put up with a super-long commute and just stay in the city for a week. Business expense flights/hotel/per diem, and this is basically just as good as full remote.
I think your last point is important. The best hybrid approach for me and what I think we’ll settle on in the long run is similar time zone + regular get togethers once or twice every few months.
Bars, restaurants, hotels, Broadway shows and Madison Square Garden are full in NYC.. pretty hard to argue people cannot go back into the office ..
If you can wfh (for tech) why do you need to go back?
Oh.. that's a different question. No need except that jpmc leadership seems to like having people in the office. It's probaly beneficial to new hires etc ..
