My role (VP Product manager) has been eliminated and I’ve been laid off. Does anyone know how if they negotiate severance or just go by their policy? TC: 0 now

In my experience no, you have little to no leverage in a severance negotiation. Shoot your shot all the same
Your package is dependent on your years of service and salary range. There is a severance policy, search for it on the internal site.

Years of service x 3 weeks for TC greater than $150k Years of service x 2 weeks for TC equal or lesser than $150k
Have they given you time to find another role? I know with 602/603 there is a way to find another role, even if they keep you on “contractor” status (with full benefits as if you never left)
Dont know about contractor but yes they encouraged me to apply internally during my 90 day notice period and even beyond. Drawback might be that i'd give up the severance if i get hired
There is no might. If you get hired back after your notice period, you have to pay back a prorated amount of your severance.
I have never heard of this being successful in a large company. A tiny family run business might negotiate.
