I saw this article and was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are? https://unusualwhales.com/news/big-banks-are-quietly-cutting-thousands-of-employees-and-more-layoffs-are-coming I know it says JPMC is the exception as it’s doing well but does it seem likely that layoffs would happen? If so, what departments would be laid off? FRDC, CCB, CIB, etc. Will there be layoffs at chase? #tech #layoffs #jpmorganchase #jpmorgan #recession #jobsearch
We are hiring 8 ppl for just my team
My team is still hiring but I feel like my manager is handicapping my performance so I feel like I may be on the chopping block
Small scale layoffs at JPMC throughout the year are pretty common even in the tech side of the bank but they are also hiring in different departments.
Yep, this. Was a manager at JP for a while. Small layoffs multiple times a year.
Probably, but banks are most at risk in their commercial real estate business. Businesses are going to take out less loans due to interest rates. Individuals are going to default more frequently on loans due to worsening economic conditions for lower income folk who are getting hammered by inflation.
fake news. I checked with Biden, Powell and Yelen. they all said American economy has never been this good.
