True hatred will be on display today on Blind
I have resigned from Adobe after completing around 1.5 years. I have no offers as of now, still resigned due to the toxicity that I have been facing in my team. Manager was from non-tech background, resorted to threatening tactics (PIP) to deliver more. No appreciation or promotion. There were 4 entry level devs in my team, out of which 2 were silently laid off and rest of the two were continuously threatened on similar grounds. Reached out to upper management, but back fired. I am currently focusing on job search and don't want to work even a little in the notice period. What is the worst my manager can do that could affect me in any way, regarding experience letter or future background verification? Current TC : 27 YOE : 2.5 #noticeperiod #adobe #toxic
Why not internal transfer? If you need referrals DM me
Internal transfers require your manager feedback at the end. Sure, DM'd you
nothing much. But never accept that you are not working at all, say you are trying. But got stuck somewhere
Suck it up and try not to burn bridges. Let him aggro, you play your cards right and be wise.
Background verification is not done by him - only thing they can share is start and end date, and last title. Experience letters aren't done, it's reference calls, and only if you provide his name for new company to call. Only way he'd influence future prospects is if he , or someone hes close to - was connected to your future boss in some way you don't know - and decides to not be kind. But it's not in your interest to leave on bad terms, no matter how bad he is.
Noted. Thanks!
Well said. Just get a recommendation/reference from a senior colleague. That should be enough.
Your manager can’t do shit. For experience letter or recommendation - most companies don’t want it. If someone does, tell them something and be ready to walk away. You’ll miss on like 5% of opportunities. Background checks are an HR affair I think. I’ve had multiple done on me, it’s unclear what happens but I really don’t think it’s a time for revenge for your ex employer. It’s more of did you lie on your resume or did you set the office on fire and were arrested.
Also next time don’t reach out to upper management. Your manager is hired by them and retained by them.

Are you in noida Or bangalore? I thought Adobe was like a government job
Your manager cannot do anything.. You should not have resigned and should have waited till they fire you so that you dont have to return retention bonus and they would pay 1 month notice...
Manager would keep multiple 1:1 sync-ups daily and micro-manage until you start working just to avoid that. Really couldn't handle all that for this much money. I would prefer peace tbh
