I have an imminent onsite for a new grad trader role at Citadel Securities. TC from what I have heard is insane. Should I get the offer, I would still be very skeptical about accepting the offer as I have heard awful things regarding the WLB at the firm and their firing rate. Could anyone working there give me some data points about: 1. hours per week traders generally work 2. % of new grad traders who get fired within the first 6 months / year 3. Number of vacation days per year 4. Approximate TC on a 5-year time window
What is your educational background ?
CS major, 1 swe internship
And you’re interviewing to be a trader? Or software Engineer?
I got an offer for software engineer at Citadel, TC 550k (all cash), 3 YOE Turned it down because of the WLB horror stories, having ti relocate to NYC, and also the recent GME shenanigans. Took a 400k TC offer at Asana instead, no ragrets
How was the interview at Citadel? LC or much more than that?
Just LC and system design, pretty standard FAANG interview Everyone was in the office during my Zoom interviews though, and they were wearing the same (company-issued?) old headsets. Not really relevant but just something I noticed
Don’t we all want to know these things…
Less firing than you think
Is that because people voluntarily leave/are “coached out”?
Maybe because the internet has selection bias and exaggerates stereotypes? Blind is a useful resource but you really have to do some postprocessing on the information here in order to extract an accurate representation of reality

Post once you get offer. Focus on interview for now I guess
Multiple interviews with different companies, testing different areas, lead to the logical deduction that I need to prioritize preparation on areas tested by companies I would eventually want to work for
