Hey everyone looking for advice on which role would be the best move for a career as a software engineer. (1) Chevron New Grad SWE: Location: Bay Area Base: 95k Sign on: 7.5k Undisclosed Relocation 5 year program with three rotations within Chevron IT. (2) Deloitte SWE Analyst Location: Bay Area/Seattle #software #swe #engineering Base: 87.5k Bonus: Being worked on right now This role is creating software products for clients, project length ranges from 6-12 months I want to go with the role that will develop my software and professional skills the most. If anyone has any insight please let me know.
If Deloitte does over 10% bonus I’d do that. The opportunity to work with many clients on different tech stacks is fantastic. Deloitte also has world class professional development. I’m a big fan of consulting myself too bad they pay like dog shit otherwise I’d do it. Also I know chevron hq is in San Ramon which is a pretty calm area, is Deloitte in SF? That might play a factor as well as sf is much more poppin. East bay is more family oriented.
I like Deloitte more, it gives you many different perspectives on software development and different architectures. I think you will learn more here, also you may learn more about business at the same time.
Chevron. Much better pay and work life balance. Trust me
Chevron salary, bonuses, culture, projects and work life balance are much greater
