Are there any teams at Meta using Java?
Obviously android but not that many teams other than that.
Do the android teams use kotlin?
Nvm I saw in another comment that they're moving towards it. Godspeed! It's so much nicer!
Amazon loves Java
But Java doesn’t love Amazon back
No one loves Amazon back. Not even Jeff, hes gone over to fiddle with big, blue rockets
Android work requires a lot of Java people.
Yes there are in Core Data, but not nearly as many teams as C++.
As a new E4 who doesn't know c++, is it fine to join a c++ team? I want to ramp up fast and have impact. Will it take too much time?
Yes it is fine.
Android
What are the backend services built on at Meta then ? Golang / python / node ?
Php and c++
If Java is your language of preference will Meta still hire you?
Why not? Assuming you have the capability to learn any other language?
Doesn’t matter, I got an offer using Java
Not that i got an offer. Not that I am even prepared to give interviews. But I'm still so keen to know this. Smh
I write Java for android sometimes, but kotlin is used much more. I’ve never seen it used anywhere else though in other departments
stupid question if you ask me, almost every company utilizes java
Meta relies heavily on hack for everything. For infrastructure they use c++ I think
No scala in Meta?
