Interviewed with Jet.com for a front-end heavy role. I did well on the technical interviews and I could sense from the interviewer's response that they were impressed with my overall awareness about the company. I was told that the recruiter would reach out in a day or two but didn't hear from them for 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, I was told that the feedback from all the interviewers was positive but they didn't hire me because they found someone more senior. I appreciate their honest feedback but I feel bad that I didn't get the offer. The recruiter was kind enough to send my resume to other Walmart companies - jetblack, walmartlabs.
heard they’re not doing very well
Mathematically, if you land a job, you’ll know right away. Like that night. This is because the stars are essentially aligned, and you simply nailed it. Saying the job was given to someone more senior 2 weeks later, means you didn’t impress them and they went with someone else who interviewed earlier and just signed the offer. Meaning when you arrived, you probably were choice number 3. Ignore it and move on. The “feedback,” you’ll get is usually useless.
Some other factors: you lowballed yourself; early. You echoed everything they said. You mirrored their moves in the interview. You remind them of someone they know.
If you nailed the interview. You’ll get a call asking for your references. Then in a week or two. You’ll get another call, to wrap up any questions or meet any other team members. During which time, you’ll be asked if you’ll take the offer. Then you’ll get a verbal number. If you agree, they’ll send you the paperwork and close the deal. Usually on a Friday. That way they give you time to mull it over.
Offer received based on the feedback from the interview 5 months ago!
