In SWE, it’s Senior Software Engineer. I would like to say it takes around 5-8 depending on several favorites like skill, luck, timing, visibility, good managers/leadership. I want to say it used to MTS but I think it’s now more SMTS. At Intel, Grade 7 used to be the terminal grade a decade ago. I think now it’s more like grade 8 now, but Intel’s brutal to engineers in their 40s that haven’t progressed along.
Depends on the no of company levels. You are going to move at a steady pace till mid career unless you aren’t good at what you do.
So you imply mid level is terminal career progression, how many years to that? What leveling model does AMD use? Radford?
