Currently I have an offer 150K TC (just base, no equity or bonus) for long term contracting role at Meta, fully remote. I am also expected to receive an offer from Workday 150K +20% bonus + 18K RSU (TC 198K), 50% travel. I don’t feel the urge to travel for work since I just had a new born, but an extra ~$50K makes it a difficult decision. I prefer Meta, but not sure how often they flip their contractors.. Current TC = 0 Feedback helps
Ultimately it depends. If you have a partner, workday all the way. If it's you solo, maybe meta
Meta contractors are second class citizens but wfh is nice
Is this coming from experience or insider info and what org.?I heard differently from others.
It's not just 50k. It's fte vs contractor, which also typically means benefits. Health insurance for the baby, 401k match, etc etc. The fte offer is wildly better financially, and not just for the 50k in general. So it just comes down to what the rest of your life needs right now.
FTE vs contractor would make this an easy call for me. I really like workday and the way employees are treated. Never heard of 50% travel for project managers. Mostly we can't get travel approved unless it's customer-requested. For whatever it's worth, I haven't been impressed with our PMO. Their leadership can't seem to figure out what they should be contributing.
Sorry it’s for an engagement manager role, I used PM since it’s widely understood and most are familiar
I think you’d really love workday man. I would clarify the traveling part, never seen a TPM travel unless I’m missing something.

Why is our country owned by Israel? I don't want my tax dollars fund genocide. How can we stop this nonsense?
Not just $50k we have 50% yearly refreshers and stocks been doing really well and has some room to grow imo. Also employees here are treated very well. Is that worth it for no travel? That’s for you to decide. Edit: Also do you mean 50% hybrid schedule or actual traveling?
