For those who are in tech just for the money and have other passions or interests to pursue, job hopping is the best bet and nobody cares how long you were with your previous employers. I am still an IC and want to stay that way. Management takes up more time and we usually have to deal with BS. Hopped 8jobs and now in 9th in 13years. Never laid off. I hardly work 20h and hop before I get additional responsibilities. Only intend to deliver one project with each employer. Just anywhere give you more than 620k? Anyway, seriously I envy you! When I was younger, I didn’t understand job hopping but now I think being loyal to one employer is one of stupid things I did in my life.
Could work for some people staying at one company, lots of CEO are company veteran rising through the rank. But for most people you are better off helping yourself.
How do you prep for interviews? Just grinding Leetcode or what?
The standard DSA questions have been the same for the past 7-8 years. I just work on the tagged ones before I schedule my interviews. Companies like Cisco, Dell, and a startup more recently were very light on leetcode style coding.
He's clearly lucky - most people are getting challenging questions.
