I’m seeing more and more people talk about job offers, internal promo, transitions, etc. and way less people scared of layoffs or stuck unemployed. Seems market hit the bottom ~9 months ago and has been recovering ever since, which means we should be at the inflection point soon. Get your resume ready.
Not only havent got an offer but not even an interview
People say 2020-21 was the best time to switch. That’s sooo true. Stock was in gutter. My friend switch from msft 180k tc to uber senior 400k in 2022, their tc now is 600k due to uber stock runup. Right now tech stocks are already high but if economy recovers then they will go even higher (maybe not as dramatically as before). If TC being offered is 50% more then is it even a question? And if TC is cash heavy that is even better in this economy. Invest in a dependable portfolio every paycheck. Can become 2x in 5 years. Look at goog, tsla, amazon stock growth in last 2 months
Forgot to mention tech stocks are back in euphoric bubble territory
he got lucky with uber. there are some tech stocks which are still in gutter
Market will get even worse
ServiceNow is currently hiring for a lot of openings. DM for referral if see fit
Maybe? Still feels pretty hard to land something and interest rates are still high and are not coming down anytime soon, so not sure I'd celebrate quite yet, but regardless of what the market is doing you should be interviewing and applying..
Google literally just laid off their Python team. It’s just that people no longer talk about these layoffs news. They have gotten numb because they don’t have the energy to get emotional for each of these frequent ongoing never-ending layoffs that arrive monthly on time. So in the past, when tech company do mild pip, people are like “ what ???? This is wild. the sky is falling down.”. Now, company says “we are going to layoff 30000 people”, people are like “Okay”.
Been looking for 3 months. Have a couple of offers, but neither giving a hike, and 1 is slightly at paycut. Market is far from recovering.
Congrats. May I know which 2 companies you have an offer from?
The good part about being a msft employee is that even in this environment, any other offer is gonna be >30% more cash than msft. And if folks have stayed beyond cliff they don’t vest stocks that much anyway
