Job profile is not match with expectations

**edited Hi, I have on-site coming up in few weeks but the offered position is for QA role ( or SDE for testing ) even though my profile is as Software Developer. I had clarified this with recruiter but she still added my resume in QA team review. I am not interested in QA team opportunity, but do not want to miss on on-site interview. What should I do ? Since this is team specific hiring, could I ask for the desired SDE role for some other team after the interview?#amazon Thanks!

Don’t interview for the QA role. Get an interview for SDE. They are two different roles. If you interview for QA role, they aren’t just going to say sure we will hire as an SDE.

How can you expect them to change the role after the interview? It’s like interviewing for an actor and asking them if they could hire you as a pornstar

Don’t go, I made that mistake once going for a backend job interview when I was only interested in front end.

Tell them you’re not interested in QA but interested in SDE? If simple instructions don’t work, hard pass

Since this is team specific hiring, I am worried I might get considered for SDE role but to develop something for test infrastructure!!

As a few said - straight up respond to recruiter - you want an sde position or your not interested in continuing any process. QA will funnel you to a completely different career path which will waste your time and make any recruiter afterwards automatically want to divert your cv that way. It took me jumping to a startup from big company for couple of years to change this years ago after wasting more than 6 month in trying internal transfer Biggest waste of time I ever had in my career
