Not at Tableau but an EM at another company . 1800 applicants in 3 weeks to one job position for SWE ..Jesus . We turned off our job posting Another thing that sucks for Indian/White and Asian males is that we want to promote diversity . My team isn’t diverse so it’s a good goal and we will benefit from it as a team . But it ducks being a candidate and even more as a non diverse candidate atm .if you are not having luck, it’s not you it’s just the ducking market . My TC 300K 12 yoe MCOL

But may help you get rehired. We lost momentum with diversity improvement. This reshuffling may be an opportunity.
The way layoffs work is that they have to lay off roughly the same percentage of people across every demographic to not appear biased . So some diverse ppl will have to be laid off to hit the goal.

OP, how is the quality of the candidates? The number doesn’t mean much. How many of them can write a for loop?
Really good . Like 100* Amazon folks alone Maybe 50 google and Twitter. Bunch from every big company .
Regardless the only thing HR is pushing is women engineers right now . We can easily hire a really good engineer no matter what demographics we pick so we are improving the teams diversity. They aren’t stopping me from picking candidates though so the only man in the loop right now is an exact fit for a very specific role
