I’m expecting an offer from Palantir at their Palo Alto location for a new grad SWE position (received positive feedback following HM interview). However, I’m concerned about job security, as their stock hasn’t been doing well for a while now, and due to the incoming recession, I worry they might rescind my offer before starting or have layoffs soon after I join. Could anybody from Palantir weigh in on how things are like there right now? How’s the atmosphere around current economic conditions and how high does the potential for layoffs/rescinded offers seem? Thanks in advance! Current TC: 0 (student) #palantir
Good time to invest in pltr?
They make most their money from government contracts so they are less exposed to macroeconomic forces. You’re probably good unless you’re on a purely private sector product.
I really hope so!
What does stock price have anything to do with company stability? Let’s say I have a business that consistently makes $10m in revenue a year and profitable. People are willing to pay x50 revenue for company shares. Let’s say $100/share. Now people are willing to pay x10. Share price is $20. Business as usual. What changed? Investor risk appetite.
I’m more so worried about the stock price combined with the fact that Palantir has always been far from profitable.
Far from profitable? You may wanna recheck their financial report.
Things are good. We’re hiring aggressively atm.
Looks like Denver comp went down though
Is this aggressive hiring lowering the hiring bar & diluting the talent pool? Genuine concern here, as I'm a big fan of Palantir
We're hiring a lot now, no need to worry! And congrats :)

Yeah we’re still aggressively hiring, you’re fine. Also, the low stock price is great for you because the stock grant in cash is the same, but you’ll get more stock than people who’ve been here longer than you which will be worth multiples more when we come out of the downturn.

Interesting. What are the pre reqs for this new FDOE role? Does one need coding experience?
Aggressively hiring , no sign of layoffs or freezes
