Curious to hear experiences of blind users who don’t work in stem or have spouses who don’t. Context: my wife works in marketing and she will be moving here. I work in tech. I’m wondering if she’ll be able to find good jobs here. Work visa is a whole another mess so feel free to chime in for that as well.
Subscribed. Do let us know what she finds. I was afraid to move to Bay area because my wife has a really good job in marketing here, and I am not sure she can easily find something like that in Bay Area with a reasonable commute
What’s the standard for good job in marketing? Both me and my spouse work in marketing. His TC is $350k and mine is $170k. We are both in medtech.
Wow, that is pretty good. I had not heard of non-tech people with such TCs. Do you mind sharing some info about yourselves? Where are you and what kind of background you have?
We came from the east coast where such jobs are in high demand, but pays a bit less. As I mentioned we’re in medical technology, as an industry it tends to pay alright. We both are in more upstream marketing roles, but I know downstream roles do well too and might be in higher demand.
Totally yes
Marketing positions at tech companies pay decently. We’ve hired product marketers on visas
Oh wow. You have (hired on visa)? Mind sharing the company name? Thanks!
😬
