In my college, If we accept ppo, we cannot sit for placements. What is review of Cisco Bangalore ? How easy it is to get off campus interview in companies like Uber, Nutanix, Atlassian, Microsoft (these are example of companies come to our college for placements) ? My level of preparation for placements : 1. Will finish all algoexpert problems till 22 July (I have solved 100 till now). 2. Need to revise OOP, DBMS. 3. Need to prepare for Operating Systems and Computer Networks (have done them as part of course). 4. Need to watch system design videos of algoexpert. But I have heard very few companies ask this in fresher level. CGPA : 8.5, 3 self projects, around 1860 on codeforces, 5 star on codechef, one google kickstart round with rank < 230, two internship including Cisco, tier 1.5 college. Time left for placements: 15 days. Please also answer the poll. Please comment your thoughts too (It would be very important for me). This post will be helpful for lot of people since most summer internships are just ending today in India. Decision: I declined the offer and It was good decision since I got placed in day-1 company.
What’s the TC of Cisco? They changed it last year and might have removed the stock components. Depending on your placements, your preparation and above question you should take a call.
non-dsa things like OS,Networks,System design are not complete. They can act as bottle neck. The benefit of offcampus is that I will get more time to prepare and there won't be any long cool off period. For example : If I failed Uber in August Interview then I need to wait 6 months for next Interview. Whereas I can prepare till September and ask for interview through referral during October. But in offcampus number of interview I would get will be surely less than oncampus placements. I know last decision is upto me, but what are your thoughts ?
Do you know if cisco is offering stoks? If so take the ppo else decide on what I mentioned
Ideally try to answer this - What’s the worst company you can get in placements if you are unlucky. If answer is much worse than Cisco then take the ppo, if it is slightly worse than cisco then it’s open ended, and if you think you would definitely get a better offer (in the WORST scenario) then leave the ppo. Take into account if all off your weaker topics are asked in one interview how would you fare. It’s depending on risk you are willing to take
Okay I will take decision after taking all things you said into consideration . How common it is to get off campus placement after August (I think till August end I would be strong enough to face any company since I don't have anything to do except preparation ) ? Does off campus placement run throughout the year or they also happen in August.
Not sure about that. Keep applying as you see the chance, no point in extending it. There’s a decent chance you might know all of the things that company asks
wrhW85 Mind sharing the TC breakdown? I am in the same boat and I would say accept PPO and apply abroad. Lots of opportunities these days in UK/EU/SG and you will have easier time since your soft skills will matter more compared to India
Don't know TC breakdown right now. Will inform you asap. Could you please elaborate on "soft skills will matter more compared to India"
I'm waiting to hear about TC from recruiter as well. For applying abroad there are ton of existing threads. Search "Indian interviews harder". Everyone and their dog is now doing CF from first year and competition is intense for well paying roles
Decline the ppo. With a CF rating of 1800+, you'll easily get placed on day 0/1 companies.

Why is our country owned by Israel? I don't want my tax dollars fund genocide. How can we stop this nonsense?
Being in a company like that, getting calls are not very difficult. Also, I assume you belong to a good college, that adds as well.
