Trump is still leading to win US presidential election on PredictIt
Hi guys! My PD is early 2021 and I just passed labor market test in my current company. Filed 9089. Interviewed a little and just got an offer from Meta in Ai/Ml related field. Comp up 1/3 and one level up. However I heard the PERM processing at Meta takes forever. Should I stay? Current job is a basic backend REST api dev job. Not sure when I get my GC, which is around 2 years later, will I be competitive in the market still? And nobody guarantees my current company doesn’t layoff Thank you very much!! #workvisa #h1b #meta #microsoft Another point: current manager micromanages. So staying doesn’t guarantee good WLB YOE 6 TC 220k
Wait at Microsoft until 6 mos after they file for your GC. After that, move to Meta. You don’t need to re-do PERM at that stage. Only file a new form transferring your case. Only problem is Meta might not want to wait that long.
Fortune favors the bold
hey whats your offer at ? I'm trying to decided to accept meta rs offer at 377 TC e4, zero yoe, ml phd but not great team fit
Not great team fit? 400k
yeah I still want to publish/do research/be on the edge and the team is pure product and we didn't mesh research/culturally. still want to chase that sota heroin and that isn't their priority. was willing to give up on that if they were willing to pay me to forget the dreams, but they couldn't do it wooohooo!
Please go work for a research company and make 150K, you will be a great fit
Why 2 years until GC? Once PERM is approved can’t you file 485 if your PD is current? If this is the case you should wait another 6 months and then move so that you can file 485j rather than repeating the whole PERM process. PERM at meta is still a risky thing. You have very little chance of this happening without delays. So you will have to maintain H1-B etc until you get your GC. Only you can decide if these risks are worth the higher TC.
Do you mean I wait till PERM getting approved and then shift? But if I have to file PERM and then 485, I’ll just get the gc at current company.
You need to wait until 485 is filled (+ 6 months) before you can move on. If not you can move any time, but you will have to repeat everything from PERM at the new company.
What is meta ai? Are you in fair?
