As those of you around Seattle might know, the WA Cares Fund is a new income tax for people who don't have long-term care insurance: https://wacaresfund.wa.gov/. I already have insurance, so a few weeks ago, I filed an exemption request with the state and sent a copy of the resulting paperwork to my current employer. However, I am now thinking about joining Facebook - what's the process for Facebook's WA Cares exemption? Would I have to file my paperwork before, during, or after bootcamp? #facebook
Is it better to contribute to the fund or pay for long term care insurance? Also what insurance did you buy
Definitely get your own insurance. There’s no way they don’t increase the tax over time, not to mention once you cross like 200k tc you’ll pay more in tax vs your own policy.
It is hilarious that a Google employee doesn't know how to Google things You submit your exemption when you join
dude posted a write up on Blind before googling it
There’s a portal to upload your letter to
Once you got exemption approved - it’s valid for all your future employers (at least at current state of laws, however may change in the future). You will provide your letter during payroll setup (once all systems will be ready).
