Hi all, I’m joining Samsung semiconductor team in San Jose as a Sr HW engineer. Can any current or former SSI engineers comment on the work culture and WLB at Samsung? I see mixed reviews on Glassdoor and blind so just want to make sure I know what I’m getting into. New TC: 230K
What's your new TC? I like the WLB here in Austin. I work maybe 25hrs per week.
Pro tip, runaway asap as far as u can.
It's a big company so it really depends on your team but generally speaking Samsung SSI is the best division to be in in terms of WLB
SSI SJ HQ is a good place to start. They're very supportive and WLB is 3 days a week . If your manager is good then no problems..
Depends on what role in HW. Some teams are extremely good and some are just a dud.
Thanks guys really appreciate the input. Not really happy with WLB and my manager here at Broadcom. Hope SSI will be better, was really impressed with the SJ campus and team
New TC?
New TC is 230k, sorry wasn’t clear
If you didn't like Broadcom's WLB, multiply it by 4x and that's how toxic it will be.
Korean I get but why would it be good for Chinese?
A quick question, I’m also a HW engineer and thinking relocate to Korea for some yrs, is Samsung easy to do international transfer? Thanks!
