Does h1b transfer denial while working on receipt notice in a startup (do not have offices outside the US to relocate) mean the end of American dream ? USCIS suspended premium processing to catch up on long pending applications. However I see the processing time has gone up and not down. What's happening?
Don't join on H1b transfer receipt.
What if the company isn't willing to wait ?
Then suck it up. It comes with being an immigrant.
You can initiate the transfer and then in feb convert into premium processing if you dont get a response by then
Assuming they reinstitute it. The legal circles I travel in seem to believe premium processing is gone for at least the remainder of the Trump admin, and will be low priority for a future admin.
I think it will resume in feb for april h1 processing. Thats one major source of income they get from immigration process.
It’s risky as they don’t have any office outside US. You know that you will need to go back to your home country and find a new job there if it gets denied?
Do you have a bachelors and a masters in computer science? And is your new role similar to the previous one? Does the startup have presence and enough money to support your 3 years salary. If the answer to all the above is yes, join.
Jesus fuck just search there’s 10 posts a day
Yea but my question is specifically about a start up, joining a large organization with offices all over won't pose such a problem
The risks are the same. You know them. There is an added risk. You mentioned it. What else are you going to get? Stop shitting up blind with H1B receipt posts.
There's no "smart thing" to do here. Either you join at the risk of going back to India, or you risk losing that new job you interviewed for. It's hard to digest but it's straightforward.

I am in similar boat. My extension is due for March 2019 and my consulting company is yet to file for extension. I have accepted another FT offer at a enterprise company. I have to file for extension through my current consulting company or FT role at new company. I guess dont have much choice here. What do you think ?
Fucck... Yes...join on receipt..... It's a big company..join on receipt It's a start...join on receipt You are worried...join on receipt... You know...few people deserve it...
Can we just automatically ban everyone who posts about this given there’s like a dozen posts on this topic a day?

Please dont join on receipt. Its not worth the risk. Hearing lot of stories of h1 getting rejected, it was not transfer, but first time h1 getting picked up.
