I’m anticipating an offer from Jump and curious where it will come in numbers-wise. Is 400k TC possible with 3yoe? Is that number too high or low? This is for an NYC position and I’m also anticipating competing offers from Apple and Netflix; hopefully that will motivate them, as Jump would be my top pick. Edit: this is for a software engineering role on a trading team. Current TC 250
What role?
Software engineer on a trading team. Will edit post to clarify this.
Do they have a bay area office?
Not entirely sure tbh. The company seems generally flexible regarding remote/location.
You probably will get $300K TC. You can get more if your team outperforms the other teams. It’s a siloed team structure.
Are you a former employee? 300 has been floated around as the bare minimum I could expect.
I have friends there. $300K is given to Jane Street new grads. I don’t see how Jump will beat since they are in Chicago, which is low COL compared to NY, unless you have a speciality that’s highly in demand
I think 400k is easily possible. Currently getting low/mid 300s fully remote companies with 3.5 yoe. A HFT firm should easily hit 400k+ esp a competing offer from netflix. Interview was LC hard?
No LC-type stuff at all. And thanks for the comparison..those are offers you’re receiving or your current comp?
Ranges I gave to recruiters and they said it’s reasonable given you pass the interviews. My current TC is about 240k at msft
How did you get the interview?
Through a recruiting firm they partner with.
Cool, and how about the team? Did you get to decide what team to interview with or do they just sort of put you up with whatever?
I was matched with a team based on their needs and my skill set.
550+ all in (with signing) is possible
Mind clarifying the “is possible” part? Is that an offer you received? DM if you’d prefer.
Connected with a specific hiring manager on LinkedIn. They hire new grads at this point don’t they?
I assume your skillset is cpp? Does Netflix do any cpp work or did you interview for something else?
New to the site, is 3 yoe your total experience? I have a bit over 3 years, and am only getting 103k as a software engineer, what do I have to do to get that much money? Help lmao

400k is definitely possible. How was the interview process?
Can you add more context on why you think so? (And do you think they’d do any better?) Overall the interview process was great. Mostly talked to folks I’d be working with directly, so it likely varies from team to team.
