Current TC: 260 New TC: 450 (Base salary increase of 50%) Current company is not as risky, solid WLB, good team. New company is doing ok, but I think is riskier in terms of layoffs. I fear being labeled a job hopper…I’ve been at my currently company less than a year, and the company before that less than a year as well. However, the jump in TC is super appealing… (Not going to say new company, but it’s a T1/T2 tech company)
How is that even a question
😂Blind out here making me panic like a MFer about layoffs.
Well I guess that settled it. “Jump ship” took a fast and drastic lead and blind holds true to its core values of higher TC.
People are gonna factor in only the TC as you didn’t mention the company name. So, there is nothing else to look at.
Why is it even a debate? That’s life altering money. You will probably work harder but not twice as hard. Take it, save it, do good things for yourself with it.
If you are not on a visa, jump away
Not on visa
Can't really give a thoughtful opinion based on half assed info. Ofc we'd want you to grab the TC that pays significantly more
How risky do you consider your new potential employer would be for you to second-guess moving for a 50% base increase? I feel you already know the answer, I’d say if you know you have a path for growth in your stable company, have a talk about what’s next for you before you make the decision
Can’t mention the new company without sacrificing anonymity, but they haven’t mentioned layoffs (yet). Supposedly this role is on a business critical team, but I’m sure that’s a sales pitch. I think the company is moderately risky because their revenue relies heavily on ad spend, which is obviously down. They posted good Q3 earnings, but project a tough Q4.
YoE?
If you don’t have a visa problem like 60% blinders do, then jump ship. Else, think twice and still jump ship
