Jumping into SWE 1 year into consulting
Has anyone been in the same boat, where they graduated undergrad in CS, then started their career in one of the tech consulting firms in cybersecurity or technology implementation like SAP, then a year later of coding interview prep, land a job at FAANG as Sde? What kind of expectations and work should I put in for this to happen for me? Would I still be interviewing as a college grad after potentially less than 1 yoe as a consultant? And would I then be up for an entry level position? I would love to private message someone about this as well :
I did this going from QA to SWE. No one counts my QA experience as yoe. Just like internship. Sooner you jump the better.
Did you apply through like the university grad job postings ?
Honestly I don't really remember 😀 but just spam your resume for anything you see you like. No harm in applying.
