Quitting this Slave life
Long story short I was forced to relocate for my current role, and refused. While looking for internal transfers got put on focus then PIP. This is my last week at Amazon. Manager just emailed me asking for a transition doc for any outstanding work through end of year. (I offered to stay on till end of yr to assist with transition but manager stated its not possible). What would you all do in this situation? Would you make a transition doc, or would you just ignore it until you lose access to everything. EDIT : I'm in ad sales, not a technical role if that matters. I have other client facing partners aligned with my book of business, one who actively screwed me over while on his book of business.
I would give them a half assed doc scribbled max 30 min, and leetcode all day instead.
Suggest a knowledge transfer as a more effective approach. Then just word vomit to another engineer and have them write it down. That's going to be more effective than you writing it down and will avoid blowback after you leave.
Ignore.
You’re PIPed, stop giving a flying fu*k about the manager or the company. Keep delaying your till last day, and present a shitty doc!

Obviously they do not value your skills or knowledge so I would honor their intent and just disappear. You could also use the doc as a place to write about all the drama instead. Create a soap opera script from Amazons craziness starring your manager. Depends on how long you want to keep knowing them.
Transition doc? How about taking 3 months of FMLA and then another 3 months of short-term disability? And may be filing an EEOC complaint for additional few more months.
I wish, but I don't have any relationships with any doctors or physicians willing to give me a note for FMLA this short of notice.
I hear you can build up these relationships really quickly through donations.
If someone burned down your house, then asked you if you could spare some change, would you help them out?
You’re getting fired by a different name and won’t even qualify for unemployment. Fuck them. Tell the manager that you’ll prepare the doc but then don’t turn it in. You won’t be able to come back regardless, so nothing more to lose.
^^^ Say you’re working on it but don’t do shit. If pressed on it then cite mental anxiety over PIP or something, your primary interest should be interview prep, not making corporate happy
Don't help them. Screw them
