Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Currently an Architect at AWS. Looking to leave but salaries are so low elsewhere. What's up with that? How are you people living off of peanuts.? KPMG, Healthcare, PWC, Banks all have salary ranges for similar architect/engineer roles 50-100K less than current AWS salary. Do other companies require employees to do so much less work to justify a low salary? TC: 255 #aws #faang #amazonaws #amazon
I know Bloomberg senior engineers who got similar or more TC than your present one. Which location are you looking in?
People in tech are so disconnected from reality. Realistically, you’re 50-100k overpaid.
I guess you're right in a way but reality is what one experiences so therefore we got used to a different reality.
Not disconnected. We are worth even more than what we are paid. No other profession has to do l€€tcode like we do.
Now the era of tech high salaries is probably over. Stick to where you are and don’t complain. Have you seen any recent blind post on inflated salaries? Most are gone. If you think you will be piped or forced to resign then obviously you have to do what is necessary
Stick to where you are and don't complain sound like a poor mindset. Complaining vs speaking up is a big difference.
My tech career salaries were roughly 30k in 2010, 55k in 2015, 120k in 2017, 200k in 2023. Right now I live as if I make 80k and I save the rest. Realistically I could get a new jobs af 70-80k and be OK with that. But to answer your questions, I was doing more work the lower my salary was 😐
Very similar experience. However, once I crossed the 200K threshold in 2020 the amount of work jumped
In my experience companies that pay less have better WLB. The one exception was Microsoft where the pay was very low and the stress and WLB were terrible.
50-100k down from 255 is still more than the vast majority of the country is making. People screw up by over leveraging themselves in good times. When I bought my house I deliberately planned it so I could survive if I lost a massive chunk of income. And my wife doesn’t work. Salaries are just supply and demand. If I get laid off and have to take a huge cut, it would suck… but I wouldn’t have any problem making my bills
100k less for same location?
In the same boat. Trying to stack cash and start a business. Wish this wasn’t the case.
What's your current base salary (not TC)?
