HackerRank coding for Engineering Manager role??

Hi, I applied for an engineering manager role at one of the AV startups. I am being asked for a coding session on hackerrank. Is that typical? I do have a coding background but it's been years since I did any production-level coding. Red flag.. job description twisted to make it look like a manager position when they want an IC instead. I suggest talk to the recruiter and clarify before you invest more time into this

Do they go through LC/HR coding challenges during their interviews?

Not sure, but you would likely have a coding round during an onsite

Hackerrank would be very unusual, I have never heard of that. Onsite interview yes definitely managers are expected to do coding
