Anderson is $100k cheaper (from a tuition standpoint) than Columbia. Aiming for MBB/T2 Consulting in California
State University
MBA? Pick Columbia. 100k is nothing even on a 5-10 year horizon, let alone an entire career.
Well an MBA graduate might need to work 3-5 years to save that 100k. Not a whole lot but also not "nothing"
If your post-MBA opportunities don’t easily net 100k of additional income over your pre-MBA prospects over 5-10 years, you’re doing something wrong
Anderson? Like Anderson university in South Carolina? Why would you consider that to be anywhere near the same level as Columbia? I know people that go there and it's almost a 100% liberal arts college. If you're doing an Masters or anything similar but want to be in a location like anderson, there's tons of OTHER options.
UCLA Anderson
Anderson is pretty reputable school, but no match for Columbia in terms of reputation. Not sure it matters to you, but add another $50k+ in additional cost of living for 2y in NYC vs LA. One last thing: If you are good enough to be admitted to Columbia, the school you choose won't matter. I went to Berkeley... a few of my classmates had offers from higher rank schools like HBS/GSB but stayed in Berkeley because of scholarship,... they all got fancy MBB offers anyway.
Not sure how this is a question unless Anderson is a free ride. Go to CBS
Are u smart or lucky? If you're smart, pick the cheaper one, you'll make it anyways
having offers from both OP is probably smart AND lucky
Anderson.
1. How about none? 2. MBA Is a useless degree. Instead of wasting all that money, you can invest that money in real estate later this year when fed pivots and get better return 3. Getting a job in MBB/T2 would be a function of market at that time. You can get into MBB/T2 consulting with your intel experience if the market is good (and as a corollary may not get into MBB if market is bad even with your fancy MBA ) 4. Opportunity cost of MBA -> 2 years of foregone salary + tuition fees; and what do you get -> Chance to compete with 100s of other PPT pushers to get into a consulting company from where people leave to join a tech company where you are already working 5. Finally you should be able to see where the world is heading. How long before Chatgpt (or a similar AI) can create a fully function PPT deck .
