Jeremy Rishel from #splunk joining SoFi. Anyone from splunk want to chime in?
How did he survive at Twitter and Splunk for so long then?
Honestly he tried a lot on the future facing projects and a lot of them failed. Intentions are good but execution had flaws.
😰
Good Luck, SoFi. Now you're on my blacklist.
I feel sorry for them
Good luck, SoFi - damage goods
Don’t you need to have some technical depth to be CTO? JR is far from technical, made poor decisions, and doesn’t care about culture. Thank god he’s leaving Splunk though.
Good luck SoFi people. Time to leetcode.
Can you please elaborate on why he sucks? I have an offer from SoFi that I’m considering strongly
He definitely is leaving here with quite a lot of disdain… wasn’t around during his whole tenure but seems like he didn’t get much done, and people didn’t like him culturally. seems that management promised unrealistic feature to sales which tech couldn’t realistically deliver on, and a lot of managers and leadership got yeeted for it after the board brought in management consultants and ousted the old CEO. I think these sales and contracts were structured to hit new annual revenue targets for the C suite, but overextended the company technically. Because of the sales numbers, a lot of these CXXs are walking away with millions in incentive comp regardless, and engineers are left delivering a massive monolithic mess, with uncertain technical footing in our cloud offerings. Not sure if he was directly part of this, but he was senior management, so he would have had visibility on what was going on, so I don’t think he’s walking away from here with a spotless reputation.
Omfg, he almost destroyed splunk.
Elaborate please
Oh no, what do you mean by this
