Got a full time position at a startup with a 3 month non binding probation period. I really enjoy my work and the future opportunities but find some serious issues in how the company is run. This includes a very emotionally reactive and unprofessional manager, along with minimally resourced and underpaid teams. Got an offer as a contractor for a big tech company with an amazing opportunity to grow and learn, higher pay. It’s a 3 months contract that is renewed up to 12 months, and hopefully, a long term position. How do I give my notice if I don’t want to burn bridges and possibly come back when the startup has grown and became more “professionally” managed? My last day will be just short of 90. I want to give two weeks but am afraid the manager might freak out and end my employment that day. I don’t want to be 2 /3 weeks without pay. From personal experience, any suggestions on how navigate this conversation and when (a week, two weeks notice)?

absurd. you’ve been there less than 90 days. you don’t own anything. 1 day notice is fine. don’t worry about bridges. this startup is going nowhere
