company wide email today saying 600 layoffs imminent next week.
severance pkg details?
WTF!
We already had the bad news of uber layoffs today
Sev for most people = 2 month notice period + 10 days/year with prorated amounts for partial years. I think all RSUs/options get cancelled if they're not vested as of the termination date... I found the above on our HR site, there aren't any fresh docs re: this layoff.
so if 3 yrs, get 3 mo. Not too bad! take 1mo vacation at least and go somewhere fun
3 years gets you 60 more days of work and 1.5 months of severance. I don't know how it compares to other firms, but seems decent to me as long as the economy holds up.
Any updates on what departments / locations / position?
any news or rumors about layoffs in branches or regional operations centers?
Schwab is an employee friendly company. I really hope they offer a good severance package.
They’ll get the standard one subway swipe to get home severance. Got to think of the shareholders first!!
I know this post is old. But I am curious, is there any layoffs planned at Schwabs because of this shitty economy nowadays?
Yes, announced today.
Reason?
