“Several ex-CDW employees are using LinkedIn and other sites to say that they have been laid off as part of a move by CDW to lay off hundreds of employees in the wake of the company’s warning that fiscal first quarter 2023 would be below expectations. Posts suggest that anywhere from 600 to 1,000 employees are being laid off across the company. Other posts say that employees were told Thursday morning about the layoffs, and those who were affected were targeted with a follow-up email.” https://www.crn.com/news/managed-services/-sad-day-cdw-layoffs-hit-hundreds-after-economic-uncertainty-warning Any confirmation? I can’t find any other source. I am not surprised stock fell over 13% after bad guidance after earnings.
There is still CDW? I remember buying a Compaq pocket pc from them in 2000.
They’re a $25b a year company. Basically the largest IT provider to medium and small businesses in the US and their enterprise business was the fasting growing. I used to work there 10 years ago.
No ill feelings from me, they just disappeared around the dot com burst, so I assumed they did not make it. Turns out, they’ve pivoted to enterprise and it’s working out for them. Cool.
Buying is reduced and everyone is on a hold pattern until end of the year. I am thinking they will do ok next year..
Still with CDW, we have added alot advanced services and consulting into our portfolio so that we are not just relying on selling commodities like pc's and printers.
What does CDW do anyways?
Computers and accessories. they saw a boom after WFH as they allowed companies to supply accessories to support wfh.
They are also a reseller of numerous SaaS and on prem products
