Kaiser permanente Health Insurance

I would like to get second a opinion outside kaiser for one of my issue. But I have only Kaiser insurance plan. What do I need to do now? Do I need to pay full money out of pocket or is there any other way of using kaiser insurance outside kaiser. Please share your experience if any. It really helps. Thanks in advance.

Was a KP patient in atlanta. I was able to get external care when my doctor referred me. What I did was meeting every single doctors within the dept at KP, and they all agreed to sign off

Kaiser recommended me to an outside urologist and I didn't pay anything

Kaiser is shit. Your primary doctor will do everything to not give you referral to specialist

Would definitely agree with this.

The answer is it depends. If you're looking for a second opinion then that's not going to happen with an out of network doctor if you have KP. If it's something that is outside the specialty of the doctors in the KP network for that region, it's easier but you still have to do tons of paperwork. KP is for people who are otherwise healthy and do not have unique issues. Go with a PPO if you have something that is not common.

Kaiser has conflict of interest because they are both the insurer and the service provider. Google for Kaiser Papers.
