Finally I give up, going back to India.
I'm currently in Amazon India, UK based team. At Amazon, international internal transfer needs one to spend 1+ Years as L5(SDE2) Level. My ultimate aim is to settle in US and get a green card. I'm frustrated with India and it's policies. Sky high taxes, zero benefits, bad infrastructure, corruption everywhere. Even for smallest thing, you'll have to pay bribe, else your work is not done no matter how accurate your documents are. To achieve this, I have figured out, the only way that is feasible for me, is going through employment sponsorship. Meta, Google and Amazon seems to be the first choice for this for US relocation. No, am not interested in MS, as I'll have to spend extra bucks just to go US on student Visa, also, with zero earning during work. Views, guidance and opinions are most welcome. #engineering #software #swe #visa #workvisa
Become a manager. Come to the US in L1A. File for EB1C green card. All while you are still employed at Amazon. ETA - 3 years
I'm happy as SDE at Amazon, but heard SDMs' mental peace is fucked up at Amazon.
Becoming Manager will take 7-8 years as Managers are L6+, I don't think I can wait that much time in India. Is there any quicker route as well?
