Currently, I am using a mechanical keyboard with blue switches for the last two years. Though it is my first mech, this is the best typing experience I ever had. I really like the amount of pressure needed to register the keys, it's just beautiful. The only problem is sound. It's pretty loud, even feels louder in the meetings. Are you aware of any comparable keyboard or switches that are quiet but give similar tactile feedback like blue switches? Thank you. #softwareengineer #keyboard
Maybe try brown switches?
Thanks.
Mx keys. Not as loud, typing is good. Not as satisfying as the mech keyboards but saves relationships
Yes, maybe I have to buy an Mx keys as a backup keyboard. Logitech should make a TKL version.
what’s the most quiet color switch? Is it brown?
Well, it supposed to be red switches, aka linear ones, but they feel like shit
Yes, I tested the Red switch once at the store and seemed no feedback at all.
I recently moved to brown switches keyboard from blue, they are the compromise between noise and tactile feedback. They are a bit less noisy but I'm still not sure if they would be ok in the open space office
I saw few youtube reviews on sound tests and had the same thought. Doesn't seem that quiet.
The only noise brown switches make is the contact between the key plastic and the keyboard base plastic. That means they only do noise if you hammer your keys into the keyboard. I’ve used the brown switches in an open office space before covid started for more than one year without any issues.. you just have to control your typing force
das with brown
Do they have brown switches? I thought Gamma Zulu switches from looking at their website.
Buy a normal keyboard you candy ass hipster.
lol.
I thought the sound was the whole point of mechanical keyboards?
Maybe for some people. I like the typing experience, it's second to none. But not a fan of the sound and RGB. I wish if some company could make a quiet mech with blue switches, I am ready to pay double for it. lol
You don't like RGB, too? What a savage. RGB is the most important feature of a professional keyboard, right after the clicky sound!
Go to micro center and try some different switches
There is no micro center in the bay area and Frys' stores are closed. Bestbuy is the only option. Yes, I will try few more switches to see if there is a better one with less noise.
Corsair K70 cherry mx red.
Don't like the Red, it's too linear, there is no feedback at all.
It comes in other switch types too

Das keyboard.
Thanks for the recommendation. Just checked it out. It uses Gamma Zulu switches and doesn't seem quiet in the youtube reviews, maybe a little bit dampen sound than the blue.
